Utah Energy Summit Draws Large, Diverse Group Of Energy Policy Experts

Governor Jon Huntsman's first annual Utah Energy Summit, which ran from April 15-17, 2007, featured one of the most diverse and impressive gatherings of energy experts ever held in the West.

Governor Huntsman called the summit an "extraordinary and one-of-a-kind summit."  He concluded the Summit by listing a series of "concrete deliverables" that he intended to flow from the Summit.

Joining Governor Huntsman were Governors from four other States:  Governor Dave Freudenthal (D-WY), Governor Brian Schweitzer (R-MT), Governor Jim Gibbons (R-NV) and Governor Joe Manchin (D-WV).  The Governors conducted a ground-breaking, one-hour Roundtable on American Energy Security, sponsored by the NextGen Energy Council.  You can see streaming video from that event here.

Also participating were dozens of the nation's brightest minds on energy and environmental policy from government, industry, academia, conservation organizations and many others.  Go here to see the full speakers' list.

More than 475 individuals attended and participated in the Summit.  You can see a partial list of attendees herePlease note that this list does not yet include those who registered on-site.
